1963 Hyampom Bigfoot Footprint Cast – Replica (Cast “B”)
This replica is based on one of the famous Sasquatch footprint casts documented in April 1963 near Hyampom in Trinity County, California.
Originally discovered by an unknown witness and documented by renowned tracker Bob Titmus, these tracks were later examined by Bigfoot researcher John Green, who described the discovery in Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us.
Historical Background
In 1963, Titmus was shown a series of large tracks near Hyampom — roughly 60 miles south of the Bluff Creek area associated with earlier Bigfoot reports. Three distinct track sizes were observed:
A very large 17-inch track
A 16-inch track
A 15-inch track with widely splayed toes
Unfortunately, many of the original impressions were damaged by sightseers before full documentation could occur. However, several casts were successfully preserved.
This replica represents Cast “B”, believed to be from the individual that produced the 15-inch trackway described by Green.
Track Details
Location: Hyampom, Trinity County, California
Date: April 1963
Track Length: Approx. 15–16 inches
Ball Width: 5.5 inches
Heel Width: 5 inches
Variations in length among casts from the same trackway are common and may result from:
Substrate conditions (mud vs. firmer ground)
Foot motion during stride
Depth and angle of impression

Researcher Jeff Meldrum has noted that the Hyampom tracks were likely formed in wet mud — supported by photographs showing standing water within some impressions.

Museum Context
Original casts from this event are housed at the Willow Creek Museum, where they are cataloged as coming from multiple Hyampom sites documented in April 1963.

John Green gives us some information about this cast and its context in Sasquatch The Apes Among Us. He writes:

“I wasn’t back in California until 1963, by which time Tom [Slick] was dead. Bob, who had returned to visit his parent, had been shown tracks of three different sizes at Hyampom, about 60 miles south of the Bluff Creek site, and I drove down to have a look. By the time I arrived, Bob had made some casts, but sightseers had trampled on nearly all the tracks, leaving only a couple of 16-inch long ones. The other tracks, one 17 inches long and very wide, the other 15 inches, with widely splayed toes, were both new to all of us, but the 16-inch could well have been the original Bigfoot.”

HyampomCasts
This cast is from the individual with the 15-inch tracks mentioned above. Interestingly, this particular cast measures 16 inches, but there is another track cast from this individual that measures in at the documented 15 inches. (When multiple casts from a trackway are cast, they often have different lengths due to the casting substrate, as well as the forward motion of the foot as it impresses in mid-stride.) The following photograph is of the other foot from the same trackway:

There are two other casts labeled as being from “Site #1”, and another cast from an unspecified site. All are labeled as being from April of 1963, with no day given.

Jeff Meldrum has made statements indicating that the Hyampom cast (which may exhibit Sasquatch dermal ridges) was made in mud. Murphy includes a photograph that even shows standing water in one of the Hyampom tracks.
